Concept

I've always loved this first step in the sequence of events that lead up to the final render for a visual effects project. Wait, did I say love? sorry, I meant hate. Coming up with ideas is painful for me, but I try anyway. The theme of utopia/dystopia seems like a fitting theme to the robot I used for my previous "Contraption" project so working it into my new concept seems like a good idea. While trying desperately to brainstorm a few days ago, my sister was kind enough top pitch an idea to me. This idea involved the robot dancing around in a sea of hamburgers...as it rained hamburgers. At the time I passed it off and made remarks about her stupidity, but this stupid idea led to another stupid idea, this time, from me. I kept the hamburgers part of my sister's idea, but changed it to a hamburger with legs running from my robot, possibly escaping a fast food restaurant. This escape would be the hamburger escaping from its dystopia, where it would be served up to fat slobs such as myself, doomed to be shredded into a digestive paste inside their bowels. The burger man runs for his life from this restaurant, chased by the burgerbot (a robot employee) as it tries to find sanctuary. I'm thinking this sanctuary could be a vegan restaurant, which the burger enters after outrunning the robot. Now to elaborate on this concept more with some storyboarding in the next post.
